Every 2 years, the Conseil des vins de Saint Emilion organise a competition called “la Coupe des Crus de Saint-Émilion” during Vinexpo Bordeaux.
The competition is organized into eliminating matches during which the Crus are pitted against each other by appellation, two by two spread over 3 vintages: 2010, 2011 and 2012. Almost 250 tasters made up of wine professionals from around the world (Store owners, sommeliers, wine merchants, importers and journalists…) composed the tables with 3 jury members each, in charge of judging each match. It is the crus that are the most consistent over the three vintages, in every appellation that won the awards: 2 semi finalist, 1 finalist and 1 winner.
Our Château Jacques Noir went to the final on its category this year. You can read our full interview following this tasting on the following website: vins de Saint Emilion
